The San Diego City College women’s badminton team is headed to the state championship for the fourth consecutive year after narrowly defeating a strong Pasadena City College team, 11-10, on Wednesday in the Southern California title match.

The Knights were outmatched by De Anza, 19-2, in the California Community College Athletic Association women's badminton state championship match on Thursday. It is the second year in a row that De Anza has defeated SDCC in the final.
This was the third consecutive season that the Knights have made it all the way to the state championship match. The Knights defeated San Francisco, 14-7, in 2012 and lost to De Anza, 12-9, in 2013.

The SDCC women's badminton team has qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association championship match for the third straight year after defeating East Los Angeles, 17-4, in the Southern California regional final on Wednesday. The Knights, who are now 7-0 on the season, will play De Anza College (10-0) in the title match for the second consecutive season. That match is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 at 3:00 p.m. on De Anza's campus in Cupertino, Calif.

The San Diego City women's badminton team defeated Irvine Valley, 15-6, on Wednesday and Mesa, 21-0, on Friday to win their third consecutive Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championship. It is the third straight season that the Knights have finished with an undefeated regular season, a streak of 22 matches.

The Knights came into the California Community College Athletic Association championship riding a 19-match win streak and looking to get a second straight state title, but De Anza College stood in the way as the Dons defeated SDCC, 12-9, to win their first CCCAA state championship.

For the second consecutive season, the SDCC women's badminton team has been honored with major postseason awards by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. Head Coach Son Nguyen was named Coach of the Year, Darby Duprat was given Most Valuable Player, and all six players were selected to the All-PCAC team.

The undefeated SDCC Knights (9-0) have now won 19 straight matches dating back to last season, including the 2012 state championship, and will be looking to get their fifth state title when they take on Northern

The Knights ended the 2013 regular season as Pacific Coast Athletic Conference champions with an undefeated 8-0 record for the second straight season after defeating San Diego Mesa, 20-1, on Wednesday. The defending conference and state champions have won 18 consecutive matches and are headed towards a playoff match against Pasadena, winner of the South Coast Conference, on Wednesday, May 1 at 3 p.m.

The SDCC women's badminton team has captured the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship after defeating City College of San Francisco, 14-7, on Thursday. It is the fourth time under the direction of head coach Son Nguyen that the Knights have won the state title.
Thursday's championship match was the toughest of the season for the Knights as they had to overcome fatigue and injuries in addition to the the skill of a top notch opponent in San Francisco.
