Knights Comeback to Win in 12th With Garcia's Walk

    2/10/2012

The Knights rallied back from a 2-run deficit in the ninth inning to tie it and then pulled out the 5-4 win over West Los Angeles after a bases loaded walk by Hilario Garcia in the 12th.

Down 4-2 with one out, Garcia started the ninth inning rally with a walk. Adam Tolbert got on base after being hit by a pitch. Then Kevin Garcia put the ball in play with a ground ball to the first baseman and he committed a throwing error while trying to turn a double play. His ball sailed into the outfield and allowed Hilario Garcia to score. With Tolbert at third base, Randy Carrazco hit a sacrifice fly to left field that evened the game at 4-4.

In the 12th inning Corlos Borruel reached after being hit with a pitch. Slater Putland singled down the left field line and Harrison Guiol hit a bunt single to load the bases. Garcia then earned the walk that gave the Knights the comeback victory.

Brent Daugherty pitched the first 5.1 innings and struck out four while giving up three runs on 10 hits. Andrew Macmahon earned the win after pitching the last 6.1 innings and gave up one run on six hits while striking out three.
