No. 5 Knights Set To Face No. 13 Riverside in 3rd Round
The No. 5-seeded Knights will host No. 13 Riverside in a third round CCCAA Southern California regional playoff on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m.
The back-to-back PCAC South champion Knights (27-5), who have won a school record 13 consecutive games, are coming off a 73-62 home win in the second round of the playoffs last Friday. They were led by PCAC South Player of the Year Darien McClain who scored 20 points and dished out four assists.
It is the first time that the Knights have advanced past the second round since 2009 when they made it to the state quarterfinals. That 2008-09 team finished with the best record in school history at 28-5, but this year's squad will have a chance at tying that record on Saturday night.
Riverside reached the third round by upsetting No. 4 San Bernardino Valley 68-59 last Saturday. The 22-8 Tigers have won three in a row and seven of their last nine games. They finished third in the Orange Empire Conference.
Tickets to Friday's game are $12 for adults and $8 for students w/ID, faculty, staff, children under 12, and seniors. Southern California Regional Bracket
