Knights Will Play Yuba College in State Quarterfinals

The San Diego City College men's basketball team will play Yuba College in the quarterfinals of the CCCAA state championship on Thursday, March 9 at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Las Positas College in Livermore, Calif., this year's state championship site.

The Knights, who tied their best record (28-5) in team history with a resounding 113-81 third round home win over Riverside last Saturday, will go into Thursday's game against Yuba riding a 14-game win streak.

The Yuba 49ers are 28-2 and are currently on state-best 19-game win streak.

These teams met earlier this season in the semifinals of the Allan Hancock College tournament on November 19 when Yuba outlasted the Knights, 85-78, in overtime. The Knights held a 59-50 lead with 9:41 remaining, but Yuba rallied back to force overtime.

The winner of this quarterfinal will move on to play either San Francisco or Antelope Valley in the semifinals on Saturday, March 11 at 3 p.m.

The only other time the Knights have advanced this far was in 2009 when they fell to San Joaquin Delta, 71-69, in the quarterfinals.

Thursday's game, as well as all other quarterfinal games, will be broadcast live via SoCal College Sports
