Brandon Lupian Named Head Coach


Brandon Lupian, who was an assistant with the women's basketball team in 2009-10, has been named the new head coach of the Knights for the 2011-12 season. Lupian has been at San Diego City since 2007 as head coach of the men's tennis team. Since most of the men's tennis team's schedule is played after the basketball season is completed, Lupian will be coaching both teams. 2011 Summer Basketball Camp


The 2011 Women's Basketball Camp will be held on June 16-18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harry West Gymnasium on the campus of San Diego City College. There will be a skills session at the start of each day, a short break and then a game period will follow. The camp is for girls 16 years and older. Knights' 2nd Half Rally Falls Short, Lose to Mira Costa


After falling behind by as many as 16 points late in the second half, the Knights rallied to get within four points, but couldn't get any closer and fell to visiting Mira Costa, 73-67.

Knights Downed by Grossmont, 68-51


It was a tale of two halves for the Knights as they start strong, but falter in the second half and lose, 68-51, to Grossmont on Wednesday night.

Guzman Gets PCAC Honorable Mention


Women's basketball player Gaby Guzman was given Honorable Mention for Women's Athlete of the Week by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Knights Edged by Southwestern, 70-64


The SDCC women's basketball team hung tough with Southwestern, the PCAC's first place team, on Friday night, but the Jaguars got the 70-64 victory of the Knights.

The Knights ended a three-game losing streak on Wednesday with their largest victory in their history, an 84-27 rout of Palomar.

The Knights' second half rally falls short as they drop their first PCAC game of the season to visiting Imperial Valley, 57-55.

Amber Browner Gets Honorable Mention for Athlete of the Month


Knights' sophomore forward Amber Browner was awarded Honorable Mention by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) and the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) for her play during the month of November.

Browner Named PCAC Athlete of the Week


Women's basketball player Amber Browner has been named Women's Athlete of the Week by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference for the week ending on November 28.
