The City College Emergency Food Pantry is for students of the San Diego Community College District. It started when a group of faculty and staff identified the need to provide much needed assistance to our students. Through donations of cash, food and payroll deductions, we continue to offer our students access to much needed food. Currently we offer this assistance two ways:
Where canned and dried food items that cannot otherwise be used in the pre-packed lunches are distributed to students as they become available.
These items are offered on Wednesday's, 12:00pm - 1:00pm on Gorton Quad.
Students can fill one grocery bag full.
andHelpful Emergency Lunch Program
The H.E.L.P. pre-packed lunches are located on City's campus in room L121
Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-4:00pm
(or when the CalWORKs room L 121 @ City College office is open)
This just in from a City student. (email 10/31/11) “Hello... Today I was going thru a hard time no money no food and I was very hungry... The food pantry was able to help me out with a sack lunch and I just wanted to say thank you!!!”
