The Office of Institutional Effectiveness at San Diego City College provides leadership and coordination for college-wide planning, research, and outcomes reporting processes. The office supports effective planning and decision-making in support of institutional effectiveness and student learning and success, working in collaboration with all departments and programs. Key functions include:

  • Management of institutional and department-level planning processes, including Strategic Planning and Program Review
  • Reporting on institutional-level outcomes and communicating with internal and external constituents about the college's results
  • Oversight and coordination for accreditation reports and processes, and liaison to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
  • Supervision and support for Institutional Research

Program Outcomes

  1. Integrated Planning: The Institutional Effectiveness office will provide leadership and resources to improve integrated planning throughout City College.
  2. Data Reporting: Timely and accurate information and analysis will be provided to college programs, services, governance groups, and external agencies to use in assessment, evaluation, and decision making.
  3. Accreditation: The Institutional Effectiveness office and the Dean, serving in the role of City College Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), will ensure that the college is aware of and responsive to ACCJC expectations for institutional accreditation.
  4. Research Agenda: The Institutional Effectiveness and Research offices will annually complete the college Research Agenda developed in collaboration with the standing Research Committee.
