The President's Circle

The President's Circle program raises unrestricted funds for the college's areas of greatest need. The funds, allocated at the president's discretion, enable the foundation to offer scholarships to students, provide support for student services, and educate the community's workforce. President's Circle members are part of the City "family" that plays a critical role in the success of the college.

In appreciation, members are invited to participate in a number of unique events such as a reception with City College President Ricky Shabazz, holiday party hosted by President Ricky Shabazz, and invitations to other exclusive President's Circle events. As well as an annual "State of the College" and Quarterly Newsletters

Student Scholarships -- Our Future Leaders

The Student Scholarship Program provides a wide variety of scholarships to all students for books, fees, tuition and other expenses. Students apply for scholarships relevant to their academic major, career objective or individual interest. Scholarship funds are provided through the generous donations of faculty, staff, retirees, alumni, and community and business leaders. New scholarships are established as memorials or honorariums in appreciation of a respected professor, or to celebrate a specific field of study. With the ongoing efforts of the Foundation, the number of scholarships and applicants increase each year. For students, parents and faculty, the highlight of the year is the Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet. Professors, friends, family and donors gather to celebrate the academic achievements of each scholarship recipient.

City Heritage Club

The Heritage Club honors those who have included a gift to City College in their estate plans. Though City does not have to be told of a bequest, it is useful for planning purposes to know that a gift is anticipated, and it is often helpful to discuss with donors in advance both the structuring of a gift and whether it will achieve the donor's goals. Additionally, we like to acknowledge the generosity of donors who remember City in their will.

Gift plans create opportunities for both our donors and City College. Determining what gift is right for you is just as important as making the gift. There are many options from which you can choose. The correct plan for you balances what you wish to accomplish for yourself, your family, and your charitable interests in your overall estate and financial plans.

Naming Opportunities

Several City donors have elected to take advantage of naming opportunities that come with significantly large gifts. City is currently engaged in renovation and construction of facilities, which presents new options for naming a building, classroom or other space for a donor or someone the donor chooses to honor. For more information about naming opportunities, please contact the Foundation Office.
