Commencement

Date: Thursday, May 25, 2023 
Time: Ceremony starts at 5:00 p.m. / Check in at 3:00 p.m.
Location: Balboa Park Organ Pavilion

Have You Checked Your Graduation Status?

You may view your graduation status by logging into mySDCCD (https://myportal.sdccd.edu/) and going to the My Academics section, loctaed on the left-hand side of your student portal.

Graduation Deadlines

Graduation is not automatic upon completion of requirements.

Feb 15, 2023

Deadline to apply for Graduation for students completing an Associate Degree for Transfer and transferring to a CSU in Fall 2023.

March 15, 2023

Deadline to apply for Graduation and ensure that your name appears in the official commencement program.

April 30, 2023

Deadline to apply for Graduation for students completing an associate degree in Spring 2023.

Submit a Petition for Graduation

Apply for graduation though your MySDCCD portal. Under My Academics on the left-hand side of your student portal, click Apply for Graduation next to your program/major name. Please note that if you do not see your degree and/or certificate displayed, please meet with a counselor to add or remove the appropriate academic plan(s). Be sure to click SUBMIT at the end. Students must complete a minimum of 12 degree applicable units at the college granting the associate degree. For more information, please contact the Counseling Office or go to http://studentweb.sdccd.edu/evaluations and click on the graduation link. 

Official Diploma

Expect your official diploma via U.S. mail within eight weeks after the end of the semester. Diplomas are issued after completion and verification of graduation requirements and sent to name and address on record.

2022 Commencement Photos

Thank you for participating in San Diego City College Commencement 2022 at Balboa Park Organ Pavilion. For photos please visit the following websites:
·         GradImages® Photography has color photographs of graduating students receiving their diploma and/or certificate on stage. Approximately one week after graduation, you will receive a free photo proof. You may choose to purchase the 5”x7” color photos for $9.00 or view the many other products through GradImages. For more information: 800.261.2576
·         J. Kat Photo, Inc. has photographs available for purchase
·         For free event photos from Commencement compliments from San Diego City College (click here). You will need to create a flickr account to access them.
