San Diego City College Nursing Program ranks second in the state for best nursing school in California, according to RNCareers.org.

From RNCareers.org: Out of 134 nursing schools in California, the nursing program at San Diego City College ranks #2 in the state, and out of more than 1,700 nursing programs nationally, it ranks #3. It's 3-year average NCLEX-RN passing rate is 99.50%, giving the San Diego City College an overall grade of A.

“It’s great for our nursing program to be recognized and rank second in the state and fifth in the nation with rncareers.org,” said Dr. Dometrives Armstrong, associate dean of the Nursing Education program. “This is proof of all the hard work and dedication of our nursing mental health counselor, nursing couselor, nursing student success advisor, nursing faculty, and classified professionals who provide guidance to our students to be succesful.

For academic years 2019-20 and 2020-21, with both years having a cohort of 52 nursing students, the NCLEX RN pass rate was 100%. In acadmic year 2021-23, the pass rate was 98.41% with a cohort 63 students.

“Our faculty and classified professionals do so much to support our students,” Dr. Armstrong said. "They ensure our nursing students are competent and safe when serving our community.”
