City College Transfer/Academic Counseling

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) colleges (City, Mesa, and Miramar) do not send course syllabi as course syllabi vary from professor to professor and do not reflect all the information provided in the Course Outline of Record (COR). By state law as expressed in California Education Code Title 5, the COR is the legal document for each course taught at a California Community College. They are written and revised every six years by discipline faculty, reviewed and approved by the college Curriculum Review Committee, and in the case of the SDCCD CORs, approved again by a district-wide Curriculum Committee. Each college instructor is required to cover all topics listed in accordance with the course objectives, with the freedom to emphasize some topics over others in the classroom. These elements, as well as the assignments and textbooks, are agreed-upon by the discipline faculty from each department at each college as part of the curriculum approval process. The entirety of the information provided on the COR is much more detailed than that found on a course syllabus and reflects the way in which each course was taught at the time the student took the course.

Students can visit SDCCD Transcripts for more details to obtain official/unofficial SDCCD transcripts. Student unofficial/official SDCCD transcripts will provide the following:

  • Course Numbers
  • Course Titles
  • Semester and Year student successfully completed the course (courses with a grade of "C" and/or better or a grade of "P" from your transcript)

Students can query historical and active CORs at Acadea (CurrIQunet Meta) without a login following the helpful scribe. Additionally, students can request for CORs via email at [email protected] and [email protected]. The Campus Articulation Officer and/or Curriculum Analyst will respond to electronic requests.
