Petition to Challenge Process
Petition to Challenge
The following information is for students interested in taking math courses that require a certain MATH Milestone number that is above what the student currently possesses (please see pages 3 and 4 of this document). Please note that we also offer "X" courses that provide additional support, which are designed for students with any Milestone number: MATH 104X, 116X, 119X, 121X, and 150X. For students interested in one of these X courses, the challenge petition is not required.
Special Note for Students with Prior HS Coursework: For students that are petitioning on grounds of having completed prior high school coursework that is considered equivalent a prerequisite MATH course (such as completion of one year of HS Precalculus vs MATH 141 at City College), please proceed with the Proof of Prerequisite petition process through our college Evaluations office.
